About Alajuela

Alajuela is a province located in the northwest region of Costa Rica, just outside the capital city of San Jose. It is the second-largest province in the country and is home to a number of attractions and natural wonders. One of the most notable landmarks in Alajuela is the Arenal Volcano, which is one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Visitors can hike to the top of the volcano or relax in one of the many hot springs in the area. Alajuela boasts a number of cultural and historical sites. The city itself has a rich history and is home to a number of colonial-era buildings and churches, including the Alajuela Cathedral and the Juan Santamaria Museum. Alajuela is also known for its coffee plantations, which produce some of the best coffee in the world. Visitors can tour these plantations to learn about the coffee production process and sample some of the local brews.
