About Tabanan

Tabanan is located in the central-western part of the Indonesian island of Bali. It is known for its scenic beauty and is often referred to as the "rice bowl" of Bali due to its fertile agricultural land. The place is characterized by rolling hills, terraced rice paddies, and dense tropical forests. The main town of Tabanan is also called Tabanan, which is a relatively small town with a relaxed atmosphere and a few notable attractions, including one of Bali's most important Hindu temples, the Pura Luhur Batukaru temple. Other popular destinations there include the Jatiluwih rice terraces, which are a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Taman Ayun temple, the Tanah Lot temple, and the Alas Kedaton monkey forest. The region is also home to a number of beaches like the black-sand beaches of Kedungu and Soka. In addition to its beauty and cultural heritage, Tabanan is also an important agricultural region, producing rice, cocoa, coffee, and various fruits and vegetables. The regency is also known for its traditional arts and crafts, including weaving, wood carving, and pottery.
