About Guanacaste

Guanacaste is a province located in the northwest region of Costa Rica, along the Pacific Coast. It is known for its incredible beaches and great cultural heritage. Guanacaste is also home to several national parks, including the Rincon de la Vieja National Park, which is known for its active volcano and hot springs, and the Santa Rosa National Park, which is home to a variety of wildlife species. A number of popular beach destinations like Tamarindo, Playa Flamingo, and Playa Conchal are a go-to there. These beaches offer a wide range of activities, such as surfing, snorkeling, and fishing, as well as a chance to relax and get a good tan. The province boasts a rich cultural heritage, with a strong influence from the indigenous Chorotega people. Part of its heritage is the cowboy culture, with many working cattle ranches in the region.
