Buddhism

Buddhism is a spiritual tradition founded by Siddhartha Gautama (the Buddha) in ancient India. It centers on understanding and overcoming suffering (dukkha) through the Four Noble Truths: suffering exists, its cause is attachment and desire, it can end, and the path to its cessation is the Noble Eightfold Path. This path involves ethical living, mental discipline, and wisdom. Key principles include impermanence (anicca), non-self (anatta), and dependent origination, which explain the nature of reality and existence. Buddhism emphasizes meditation, mindfulness, and compassionate living as ways to attain enlightenment (nirvana) and liberation from suffering.
