Punakha is a town in the eastern Himalayas in west-central Bhutan. It is the former capital of the nation. The Punakha Dzong, which served as the seat of government until the mid-20th century is located here. It is also where the two rivers of Bhutan, Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu, meet.
You will also find the Ritsha Village here. They produce red and white rice here that’s why it is considered as one of the most bountiful valleys and tagged as the “rice bowl” of Bhutan.
